Honey Soy Chicken Drumsticks

Serves 6


12 fresh chicken drumsticks

1 cup Tamari soy sauce
1/2 cup Capilano Honey
1/2 cup of toasted sesame oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
Toasted sesame seeds for garnish
1/4 cup of chopped shallots

    Use a small sharp knife to make two cuts, about 3 cm long and 1cm deep, in the thickest part of each drumstick.

    Combine the marinade ingredients in a bowl then add in the chicken and mix until they are evenly coated in the marinade. Cover the bowl with a lid (or beeswax wrap!) and place in the fridge overnight to marinate.

    The following day, preheat over to 200 degrees Celcius. Place baking paper on an oven tray and arrange evenly.

    Bake the drumsticks in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, turning them over occasionally. Ensure you keep a close eye on them as honey burns very easily.

    Once golden brown and cooked through, remove from oven and garnish with sesame seeds and shallots. Serve immediately.
