Congratulations to the Victorian Apiarists' Association on an incredibly successful 120th annual conference! The educational speakers were bee-rilliant and we were honoured to meet many industry legends, including Alan Gell, Laurie Braybrook and Eileen & Bob McDonald. 🐝✨ Both Laurie (94 years of age!) and Alan were there celebrating 70 years of membership with the association.🎖 Alan’s grandson, Steven, is following his family’s tradition of professional beekeeping. One that’s been going now for five generations! Steven took out a number of awards for his honey at the conference and we’re super proud to pack his, and his family’s, pure Aussie honey into Capilano products. 🇦🇺 @ Mildura, Victoria
We had a buzzy day raising funds at the Queensland Beekeepers’ Association Field Day.🐝 Congratulations to the Stanley Rivers Branch on hosting a very successful event. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to enjoy a snag flavoured with Aussie honey produced by the amazing beekeeping families who choose to supply us. Some of our beekeepers even pitched in to help us keep up with the demand (thank you Vanessa and Annabelle)! 💛 All up we raised $500 that will be donated to the Queensland Beekeepers’ Association to help support our QLD Beekeepers. 🇦🇺 It was also fantastic to catch up with many dear friends today and we are already looking forward to next year’s event. ✨
Come on down to the 2019 Queensland Beekeepers’ Association Field day at Bribie, say g’day and grab a delicious Capilano flavoured snag in bread! All proceeds from our ‘BarBEEque Fundraiser’ will go towards the association. 🐝💛🌭
The Queensland Beekeepers' Association Inc’s 115th Annual General Meeting & Conference was off to a cracking start yesterday and we’re super buzzed for day two! We’re proud to support each state conference and the Aussie beekeepers who are a part of them. 🐝🇦🇺
On this day in 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay became the first people to stand atop Mt.Everest. Interestingly, Hillary was originally a beekeeper and owned 1200 hives with his brother, but gave it up in favour of mountaineering. ❄️ Meanwhile our founders, brothers Tim and Bert Smith, were on top of the world as they launched Capilano with strong values to support their fellow Aussie beekeepers and market Australian honey. We are proud to uphold these values to this very day. 🐝🇦🇺
Meet the Ward family, one of our suppliers from Glen Innes in New South Wales. Micheal and Melissa run their beekeeping business alongside raising their two beautiful boys, Rowdy and Reef. The craft of beekeeping has been their family for four generations and we think it’s safe to say beekeeping is well and truly in their sons’ blood too. We love seeing the next generation of commercial beekeepers coming through and seeing this wonderful family tradition passed down. Thank you, Ward family, for supplying us with your Aussie honey to pack. We hope one day Rowdy and Reef will become proud Capilano suppliers too. 🐝👨👩👦👦 🇦🇺
