Best Practice Production Facilities
Capilano Honey’s main factory is found in Richlands (Queensland), employing global best practices in honey packing, hygiene, waste management, warehousing and distribution functions.
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
The HACCP is a quality assurance program which meets the most stringent of International Food Industry requirements. In 2001, Capilano Honey received HACCP accreditation, with these principals not only followed in its factories but also by its beekeepers.
Further evidence of Capilano’s commitment to production excellence can be found in SciTest – a state of the art laboratory implemented by Capilano which is the only one of its kind in Australasia. Working with Government, regulatory bodies and commercial laboratories, SciTest ensures accuracy and maintains best practice compliance for our analytical methods in testing honey for microbial and chemical residues, enabling Capilano to provide unparalleled quality assurances to our customers.
Capilano’s Richlands factory also incorporates a PET production facility allowing Capilano to produce PET packs in-house. Certified as consumer safe with the added benefit of being recyclable and suitable for storage, Capilano’s PET has been guaranteed to be safe for food contact by International Food Standards. All Capilano Honey packaging is BPA Free.
